Talks, Press, and Service

It was such an honor to be the recipient of the University Distinguished Ph.D. Dissertation award in the social sciences category at Indiana University. I am grateful for everyone in my wonderful community of mentors and friends! Learn more about my dissertation on the Indiana University School of Education News page.

In April 2020, one of my dissertation related papers was selected to receive the AERA SIG ATL/LS Best Student Paper Award. This longstanding award celebrates the distinguished achievements of promising up-and-coming scholars in the learning sciences and computer supported collaborative learning. I feel immensely grateful for the support of the Learning Sciences community!

Recently, my work was highlighted in Medium through Wogrammer @ AnitaB.org.

360° Makerspaces.com

360° Makerspaces.com captures detailed images of maker educational spaces in school and in out-of-school settings around the world. I started this website as a tool for educators who are interested in designing maker educational spaces. Some of the spaces that are featured on 360makerspaces.com led to design recommendations of diversity, mobility, and transparency for the design of the Make Innovate Learn Lab makerspace at Indiana University’s School of Education.
