The Hillcrest Elementary School MakerLab was established in August of 2015 as a shared space within a computer lab. The MakerLab is used by kindergarten through fifth grade classes during the school day, in addition to the weekly Maker Morning Club which meets before school. The majority of materials are upcycled and donated by Hillcrest community members, so the supplies available for making may be very different from one week to the next. One of the features students are most fond of is the fact that lab tables on wheels make the space easily configurable.
